Description

Adafruit 5723 Feather RP2040 USB Host is designed for projects that require simultaneous USB device communication and USB peripheral operation in host mode. The board is based on the RP2040 microcontroller with a dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor, known from the Raspberry Pi Pico, operating at up to 133 MHz with 3.3 V logic levels.

The USB-C port is used for programming, debugging and communication with a computer, while the USB Type A port enables direct connection of USB devices such as mass storage drives, keyboards, HID controllers or other microcontrollers. USB host functionality is implemented in software using the PIO peripheral and the second RP2040 core.

The board integrates a 5 V boost converter for powering USB devices, a LiPo battery charger, a 3.7 V battery connector and a STEMMA QT connector for solderless connection of I2C sensors and modules. Support for Arduino and CircuitPython environments allows the board to be used in mobile projects, data loggers and USB-based interfaces.
