Description

The Adafruit Feather 32u4 RFM96W LoRa 433MHz is designed for developing portable and stationary data transmission systems using LoRa technology in the 433MHz band. The board integrates an ATmega32u4 microcontroller clocked at 8MHz and operating with 3.3V logic, enabling native USB communication without the need for an external USB-to-UART converter, as well as support for HID-class devices including keyboards, mice, and USB MIDI interfaces.

The integrated RFM96W radio module based on the SX1276 chipset implements long-range LoRa packet transmission intended for sending small amounts of data in telemetry, control, and monitoring systems. Software-configurable transmit power up to 100mW and high receiver sensitivity enable communication distances exceeding 2 km under line-of-sight conditions.

The board includes a 3.7V lithium-polymer battery charging circuit with charge status indication and automatic power source switching between USB and battery. The battery voltage is routed to an analog input, enabling monitoring of the charge level within the user application and implementation of power management functions.

The Adafruit Feather 32u4 RFM96W LoRa 433MHz provides 20 GPIO lines, hardware UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces, PWM outputs, and analog inputs, enabling integration with sensors, actuators, and other embedded system components. The board is supplied fully assembled and tested, ready for programming using the Arduino IDE.

A video presenting the product is available.
