Stereo Class D audio amplifier based on two MAX98357A ICs with a digital I2S input. Delivers up to 3.2W per channel into 4Ω at 5V, supports 8–96kHz sample rates and selectable 6, 9, 12 or 15dB gain. Soldered 333355
The device Stereo I2S Audio Amplifier MAX98357 by Soldered uses two MAX98357A Class D amplifier ICs. Each IC handles one audio channel, providing full stereo output. The digital I2S interface transfers audio data directly from the microcontroller to the amplifier, while the DAC integrated into the MAX98357A eliminates the need for a separate digital-to-analog converter. Maximum output power is 3.2W with a 4Ω load and 5V supply.
The module supports sampling rates from 8kHz to 96kHz. Communication uses the BCLK, DIN and LRCLK lines, with no MCLK signal required. Onboard jumpers allow the gain to be set to 6dB, 9dB, 12dB or 15dB. Speaker outputs for the left and right channels are equipped with convenient terminals, and the board can be powered from 3.3V or 5V. The module is suitable for audio players, IoT devices, alarm systems and projects based on ESP32, Raspberry Pi and other platforms equipped with an I2S interface.
