The Analog Discovery Pro offers a range of advanced triggering features. Tools in WaveForms can be cross-triggered, for example, activating oscilloscope capture based on a received and decoded digital protocol. External signals can trigger events via two dedicated external trigger inputs located at the rear of the device. These features can be configured through the application or via scripts.

The Analog Discovery Pro is operated using the free WaveForms software. The device communicates with WaveForms via a USB connection to a computer, allowing users to capture, record, analyze, and generate signals and waveforms. WaveForms can be tested without hardware using the demonstration mode. The application also features a tool that enables the creation of custom scripts in JavaScript. WaveForms is designed to run on laptops or desktop computers and is compatible with MacOS, Windows, and Linux. Users also have access to the WaveForms SDK, which includes software libraries and examples for creating custom applications in C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, and Python, as well as using LabVIEW and MATLAB.

Comprehensive documentation and a user manual are available for the device. The manufacturer also provides numerous guides and sample projects available on the product page.
