Description
The Bench Power module is an advanced power supply solution designed for projects built on the Pimoroni Yukon platform, enabling delivery of a variable output voltage of up to 12 V. Using a high-efficiency step-down converter, the module allows for smooth and programmable voltage regulation in real time, opening up a wide range of application possibilities. It is ideal for powering devices that require adjustable voltage, such as PC fans or single-colour LED strips. A built-in voltage lock function allows you to set a fixed 5 V output by cutting a dedicated trace on the underside of the module. The design also includes two free digital signals that can be used to connect sensors or other elements for feedback control.
The module delivers stable operation thanks to an extensive system monitoring voltage, temperature, and power status. It is engineered to provide a maximum continuous current of 5 A with peak values up to 10 A. Bench Power comes fully assembled, although using the additional digital I/O signals requires soldering. Thanks to full compatibility with the Yukon platform, the module can serve as a key component in advanced engineering and robotics projects. It uses the RP2040 microcontroller’s hardware PWM, which means certain limitations apply when multiple modules operate simultaneously. The module is well suited for both professional and hobby applications, providing stable and controllable power delivery.
