Description
The Dual Switched Power Output is a power module designed for the Pimoroni Yukon platform, enabling independent control of two high-current outputs. It is intended for driving power-demanding components such as 12 V pumps, fans, solenoids, and actuators, providing direct pass-through of the Yukon input voltage (5–17 V). With built-in inductors and flyback diodes, the module handles inductive loads safely and reliably. Each channel is controlled independently, increasing design flexibility and allowing the creation of more complex systems. The module can also operate in low-frequency PWM mode, offering smooth power regulation for devices with slow response times, such as heaters or heating elements.
The module is engineered to support high current — while the official connector specification rates it for 6 A, testing has demonstrated stable operation up to 15 A total (7.5 A per channel). This makes it an excellent choice for robotics, automation, control systems, and creative installations requiring substantial power. Integrated temperature sensors and a “power good” indicator allow real-time monitoring and improve overall system safety. The module is delivered fully assembled, enabling immediate integration without any soldering.
