LTE CAT-1 HAT-format communication module with the SimCom A7670E-LASE modem, designed for Raspberry Pi, enabling wireless data transmission in LTE and GSM networks with support for Internet protocols and AT command control. KAmod LTE CAT1
KAmod LTE CAT1 serves as a HAT-type communication module designed for wireless data transmission in projects based on the Raspberry Pi platform and compatible single-board computers. The design is based exclusively on the SimCom A7670E-LASE modem, supporting the LTE CAT-1 standard and 2G GSM networks.
The modem provides communication using LTE-FDD, GPRS, EDGE, and GSM technologies, enabling data transmission speeds of up to 10 Mb/s (DL) and 5 Mb/s (UL) in LTE CAT-1 networks. The solution ensures compatibility with operator infrastructure and stable connectivity in IoT, telemetry, and industrial applications.
Support for network protocols TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, Multi-PDP, FTP, FTPS, HTTP, HTTPS, and DNS, as well as security mechanisms SSL and TLS, enables integration with server systems, cloud services, and IoT platforms using MQTT. Modem control is performed using AT commands transmitted via the 3.3 V UART interface.
The module also provides a USB interface which, when connected to a PC or Raspberry Pi, creates an AT command serial port and a network interface operating in ECM or RNDIS mode, allowing the modem to be used as an Internet connectivity source.
The KAmod LTE CAT1 board includes a Micro SIM card slot, a U.FL antenna connector, complete power supply circuitry, and a fully routed 40-pin GPIO header. Power is supplied with 5 V via the GPIO header or USB-C port, with a recommended supply current of up to 2 A. The module is intended for prototyping, educational, and industrial applications requiring stable LTE CAT-1 connectivity.
