Description
The 2-channel digital isolator is designed to provide galvanic isolation between two electronic circuits communicating through digital signals. The module is based on the Texas Instruments ISO6520, enabling data transmission at speeds of up to 50 Mbps on each of the two channels. Galvanic isolation prevents current flow between the two sides of the circuit, reducing the risk of device damage caused by ground potential differences, wiring faults, or electrical noise.
Each side of the isolator is powered independently with a supply voltage ranging from 1.71 V to 5.5 V, allowing the module to function as a logic level shifter between circuits operating at different logic voltage levels. Both channels transmit signals from side 1 to side 2 (2 forward, 0 reverse), and the outputs default to a high state (Default High) in the event of input signal or power loss.
The 2.54 mm pitch through-holes are compatible with standard pin headers and solderless breadboards. The PCB features an isolation slot that increases the PCB creepage distance to 2.8 mm, while the manufacturer specifies a 450 VRMS functional isolation rating. The module is suitable for industrial automation, embedded systems, microcontroller applications, control systems, and any project requiring safe digital communication between galvanically isolated circuits.
