Description
Digital isolator module Pololu 5743 uses the Texas Instruments ISO6541F to provide galvanic isolation between digital signal lines of two electronic circuits. The module features 4 communication channels, with 3 channels operating in one direction and 1 in the opposite direction. Maximum data rate reaches 50 Mbps per channel, making the module suitable for high-speed digital interfaces and control systems.
Both sides of the isolator have independent VCC1/GND1 and VCC2/GND2 power connections, and their grounds are not connected. Each side can operate within 1.71–1.89 V or 2.25–5.5 V supply ranges, while independent supply voltages allow the module to also function as a logic-level converter. EN1 and EN2 inputs provide control over the outputs on both sides of the isolator.
The device provides 400 VRMS functional isolation, while a routed slot in the carrier board increases the minimum PCB creepage distance to approximately 5.3 mm. In the event of input signal or power loss, the outputs default to a low state (Default Low). The 2.54 mm pitch through-holes are compatible with standard male headers and solderless breadboards.
