The M5Stack Tab5 Kit in the K145 version is a portable IoT terminal designed for developing industrial automation systems, monitoring platforms and edge computing applications. The device is built around the ESP32-P4 microcontroller based on the RISC-V architecture, equipped with 16 MB Flash and 32 MB PSRAM, providing high processing performance for advanced embedded applications. Wireless connectivity is handled by the ESP32-C6-MINI-1U module supporting Wi-Fi 6 in the 2.4 GHz band as well as Thread and Zigbee protocols. The antenna system allows switching between the built-in 3D antenna and an external antenna connected via an MMCX connector.
The terminal features a 5″ IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels using the MIPI-DSI interface and a SC2356 2 MP camera connected through MIPI-CSI, enabling image processing and edge AI applications such as object detection and video analysis. USB Type-A (Host) and USB Type-C (USB 2.0 OTG) ports allow connection of external peripherals, while the industrial RS-485 interface based on the SIT3088 transceiver with a switchable 120 Ω termination resistor enables integration with industrial communication systems.

The device provides extensive expansion capabilities through HY2.0-4P, M5-Bus and GPIO_EXT connectors. A microSD card slot enables local data storage, while STAMP expansion pads allow integration of additional communication modules such as LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and Cat-M. The audio system based on the ES8388 codec and ES7210 AEC front-end supports two microphones, a 1 W speaker and a 3.5 mm audio jack for recording, playback and voice recognition applications.
The terminal also integrates a BMI270 motion sensor (accelerometer and gyroscope) enabling motion detection and system wake-up, and an RX8130CE real-time clock for precise timekeeping and scheduled interrupts. Power is supplied by a removable NP-F550 Li-ion battery with a capacity of 2000 mAh supported by the IP2326 charging management IC and MP4560 power converter. Power monitoring is handled by the INA226 chip. The enclosure includes a 1/4″-20 tripod mount allowing installation on tripods or mounting brackets.
