A motor controller for the Raspberry Pi Pico, capable of supporting two DC motors or one stepper motor and connecting up to eight servos. Each motor channel offers up to 1 A of current, and built-in overload protection protects the system. The board features additional GPIO pins, analog inputs, and 3V and GND connectors for project expansion. Kitronik 5348
Kitronik Simply Robotics Motor Driver is a versatile motor driver for Raspberry Pi Pico, designed for building robots and autonomous vehicles. Equipped with 2 dual H-bridges, it allows control of 2 DC motors or 1 stepper motor, and also offers 8 servo outputs, enabling the creation of advanced mechanical projects. Each motor channel can supply up to 1 A of current, making it suitable for typical hobby motors. Built-in overload protection increases operational safety, and resets when power is cycled. Thanks to standard 3-pin servo connectors, servos can be connected without additional adapters or soldering. The board also features 5 GPIO pins, including Pico’s analog inputs, allowing easy connection of sensors and additional modules.
Power is supplied through a screw terminal with a built-in power switch and LED indicator. Additionally, the board regulates voltage, powering the connected Pico and providing 3 V and GND outputs for other devices. The solid construction, compact size, and mounting holes make it easy to install the board in robot chassis and enclosures. This gives the user a complete control platform suitable for both simple educational experiments and complex robotics projects. The board supports programming in MicroPython, and Kitronik provides sample classes and code, making it much easier to get started. It’s an ideal choice for students, hobbyists, and learners who want to explore automation and robotics.
