Description
Early Zeppelins had long cylindrical bodies made of fabric stretched over a rigid metallic frame. Inside were large gasbags to provide buoyancy. Engines with reversible thrust, propellers and complex fin assemblies on the outside provided propulsion, maneuverability and stability. In 1929 the dirigible Graf Zeppelin completed a circumnavigation of the globe in 21 days. In addition to passenger air travel, Zeppelins were used as bombers in WWI and for peacetime scientific research. The Hindenburg disaster on May 6, 1937 brought the end of the passenger airship era, but modern zeppelins, filled with helium instead of combustible hydrogen, continue to be used principally for sightseeing, advertising and aerial photography over sports stadiums.
The Zeppelin 2.5D picture puzzle is a fun DIY project for anyone wanting to add a touch of beauty and aviation history to their home or office interior. Made of art-quality composite wood, these alternatives to traditional jigsaw puzzles feature recognizable Ugears design and assemble without glue or special tools. Everything you need comes in the box, including wax, sandpaper, and instructions in 11 languages (Ukrainian, English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean). To assemble, punch the laser pre-cut pieces out of their boards and snap them together to create your picture model. Then enjoy three perspectives on the Zeppelin as you imagine taking to the skies in this airship from a bygone era.
You can leave the Zeppelin in its attractive natural wood state or color, paint or stain your model in a color scheme of your choosing (paints not included). Unlike traditional jigsaw puzzles, which have to be glued to a base then mounted in a frame if you want to preserve and display your work, your Zeppelin 2.5D picture puzzle comes in its own frame, with leg stands and a picture mount.
There are 49 pieces in the Zeppelin 2.5D Puzzle kit, with an estimated assembly time of 20-30 minutes. All models in the Ugears 2.5D puzzle series are rated "Easy" to assemble, so even those without any previous modeling experience can create something beautiful for their home.
