OAK-D Wide PoE is an advanced camera for robotic vision that combines stereoscopic depth vision with a high-resolution RGB camera, offering human-like perception. With built-in capabilities for neural network processing and computer vision, the camera enables advanced real-time image analysis. It utilizes a USB Type-C port for power and connectivity, ensuring fast data transfer via USB 3.2 Gen1 (5 Gbps). The OAK-D camera is based on the RVC2 architecture, providing 4 TOPS of computational power (including 1.4 TOPS dedicated to AI tasks). OAK-D supports any AI models, including custom ones, after conversion. The device allows encoding in H.264, H.265, MJPEG formats at resolutions of 4K/30FPS and 1080P/60FPS. In the realm of computer vision, it offers distortion correction, resizing, image cropping, edge detection, and feature tracking, among others. Additionally, the camera provides object tracking in both 2D and 3D through the ObjectTracker module.
The Ethernet with PoE connection enables the cameras to communicate with other computers using network protocols such as TCP, UDP, HTTP, or MQTT with simultaneous power supply to the camera through a single cable. The cameras are enclosed in a rugged housing with an IP protection rating, making them suitable for industrial applications and outdoor conditions. The module ensures full compliance with the 802.3af standard, Class 3 PoE, at speeds of 1000BASE-T (1 Gbps). An adapter or PoE switch is required to power the device.
The built-in stereo cameras provide precise depth perception with filtering, data processing, and RGB-to-depth image alignment capabilities. The ideal depth range is from 40 cm to 6 m, with a distance of 75 mm between the cameras. The camera is housed in a durable aluminum enclosure equipped with Gorilla Glass on the front panel, ensuring its durability and resistance to harsh conditions. OAK-D features a standard mounting thread of 1/4", facilitating its attachment to tripods, as well as a 75mm M4 Vesa mount. Additionally, the OAK-D camera has an integrated IMU BMI270, which is a 6-axis inertial module enabling three-dimensional motion tracking. This allows for real-time monitoring of the camera's position and movement.
Power consumption in OAK-D depends on the load of the modules, including the vision processing unit (VPU). The basic consumption during video streaming is 2.5W - 3W, with an additional power requirement of up to 1W for the AI system, up to 0.5W for the stereoscopic system, and also up to 0.5W for the video encoder. Total consumption can reach up to 5.5 W when all functions are used simultaneously. This is an ideal solution for projects requiring precise robotic vision, AI, depth analysis, and real-time motion tracking.
