Photonics and terahertz technologies

The book contains a description of the investment and research program for the Faculty Research Center for Photonics and Teraherc Technologies established at the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology. The Center is a horizontal structure, independent of the Institutes. The Center undertakes complex research and scientific and technical tasks of a development and implementation nature for the benefit of an innovative economy. The complexity and scope of the tasks undertaken may significantly exceed the competences of a single specialist laboratory. Effective operation and competitiveness of the JRC FOTEH is possible with the fulfillment of several main conditions: substantive (regarding concentration and focusing on research topics), legal (regarding university-industry cooperation), logistics and organizational (regarding flexible reconfiguration of university structures to the needs of an innovative economy) and financial ( concerning sufficiently strong initial state support for these beneficial processes of reconstruction and modernization of higher education). The laboratories that are part of the WCB FOTEH are as follows:

5. Design and Prototyping of Information Processing Systems in Programmable Structures;

8. Testbed of the Telecommunication Photonic Network;
9. Analysis of Image Data and Data Visualization;
10. IT Support for Research in the Photonics Area;
11. Photonic Control and Measurement Systems;
12. Teraherc technique;
13. Terahertz Anechoic Chamber.
