Starter kit for CPLD systems

The ZL2PLD set is intended for leading independent and experimental electronic enthusiasts with CPLD systems. It has been equipped with many peripheral elements, thanks to which you can make many impressive projects on CPLD systems. The advantage of the set is, among other things, that the tested programmable system is mounted on the DIP40 adapter, which allows testing with CPLD systems from different families with minimal financial outlay

The basic properties of the set:

• supply voltage: 9 ... 12 VDC,
• built-in protection against incorrect polarity of the supply voltage,
• power consumption: up to 220 mA (depends on the type and configuration of the CPLD system and clock frequency),
• built-in peripherals: 4-digit LED display working in a multiplex system with the possibility of switching one digit on permanently, 8 LEDs, 4 buttons (combined into a matrix keyboard or working independently), RS232 converter, adjustable frequency generator, quartz generator (in the set typically frequency: 3.6864 MHz), two BNC sockets enabling the input / output of external signals, a 40-pin connector with signals from the tinyPLD module (ZL4PLD),
• CPLD systems mounted on adapter plates with dimensions similar to DIP40 enclosures,
• range of frequency adjustment of the generator built into the set: 5 ... 400 Hz.

The set includes:

• assembled base plate,
• tinyPLD module with XC9572XL chip (ZL4PLD_9572),
• CD-ROM, which contains: documentations of systems from the XC9500XL and CoolRunner family, a program enabling programming PLD systems used in tinyPLD modules using a programmer compatible with the XILINx DLC5 standard (including ZL11PRG and ZL11PRG-M), examples in VHDL for the WebPack package ISE, documentation of the ZL4PLD set (tinyPLD) in electronic form, documentation of the ZL2PLD set in electronic form).
