IO port expander module based on Microchip MCP23008. The board has 7 inputs/outputs of the system, which the user can control via the I2C or SPI interfaces. The module is designed to perfectly match the alphanumeric LCD displays, becoming a converter. This application allows to reduce the number of pins needed to control the display. The module works with LCD models 16x2 and 20x4 characters with a 16-pin connector. The converter is mounted directly to the display connector, and the control interface is led out on the ARK screw connector. The board also has a potentiometer to control the display contrast. Full documentation with sample programs and a library for Arduino are available in the guide.
