Arduino Power Shield, ERAmatic

Description

Arduino Power Shield is an overlay for controlling motors or high-power DC loads. How high power? In the basic version for voltages up to 48VDC and currents of up to 80A. Practically it means the ability to control powers of 1-2kW in the peak. What's more, the designed system has a motor current sensor, which enables the control of, for example, the PID algorithm with the torque of the motor.

Features of the module:

  • ability to control current / torque and direction of motor rotation - full H-bridge
  • dedicated connector for connecting a DC motor
  • a dedicated connector for connecting the power supply to the engine
  • 4 groups of dip-switches allow you to select one of the Arduino inputs to control or simultaneously control several motors
  • measurement of motor current in the range + -20A (other ranges available after prior contact)
  • possibility of control in the range up to 48VDC and up to 80A (other ranges available after prior contact)
  • LEDs indicating correct + 5V and + 12V power supply
  • the possibility of sending a current measurement via a USB interface (COM port)

General description of connectors and connections to Arduino:

Examples of the use of modules

  • control of the simulation engine of the ship's engine shaft
  • control of the feed motor of the diagnostic system for the visual identification of the grinding quality
  • motor control of the chemical centrifuge
  • controlling the robot's drive motor to clean the high voltage line
