SparkFun Variable Load Kit is a self-assembly set, used to determine the current drawn from a given power source. This module can be used to test power stability at various loads, battery life tests etc. It can test voltage up to 30 V and generate load from several mA to 4 A. SparkFun KIT-14449
SparkFun Variable Load Kit is a set for self-assembly, with the help of the module it is possible to determine the current drawn from a given power source (at a given current load). This module can be used to test power stability at various loads, battery life tests etc. The module can test voltage up to 30 V and generate load from several mA to 4 A.
The module can work in one of two modes of displaying information about the current voltage and the current consumed; display information in the console window running on a computer (a module connected to a computer using a microUSB <> USB cable) or a 2x16 characters LCD display attached to the module (the display is not included in the set, please purchase separately: Sparkfun LCD 2x16 characters - green backlight ). The module has 4 touch buttons: arrow up, arrow down, ENTER and BACK. By means of arrows we can adjust the load value, the ENTER button is used to enable / disable the set load, while the BACK button resets the set load value. It is also possible to specify the load by entering its value in the console window running on the computer. The activation of the load is indicated by the green LED (LOAD_ON) on the module.
