Industrial converter designed for bidirectional data transmission between an RS485 bus and an Ethernet network. The design enables integration of PLC controllers, telemetry devices, measurement systems, building automation equipment, and industrial devices using RS485 communication with Ethernet-based network infrastructure. Communication is provided through a 10/100 Mbps Full Duplex RJ45 interface with support for TCP and UDP protocols.

The RS485 interface features full 1 kV galvanic isolation, surge protection, and a configurable 120 Ω termination resistor. The device supports half-duplex communication at speeds ranging from 200 bps to 1 Mbps, allowing connection of up to 64 devices on a single RS485 bus. The built-in data conversion mechanism enables transparent transmission of RS485 frames over Ethernet, including fragmentation support for data packets up to 4096 bytes.
The converter is equipped with a Phoenix Contact MC 3.81 mm screw terminal with A+, B-, GND, and TERM connections, an RJ45 port, and a USB-C interface used for diagnostics, configuration, and firmware updates. Configuration is performed through a password-protected web interface that allows network parameter setup and real-time device monitoring. The design supports PoE power compliant with IEEE 802.3af/at Class 0 and additionally allows powering the device from a 7-38 V DC supply or via USB-C as a backup power source. The aluminum enclosure increases mechanical durability and facilitates deployment in industrial environments.
