STEVAL-ESC002V1 is an extremely compact and fully ready-to-use reference Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) board designed for modern racing drones, inspection platforms, and other projects using BLDC brushless motors. Thanks to its small size and lightweight design, the board is perfect wherever minimal weight and dimensions are crucial. At its core lies the advanced STSPIN32F0A system-in-package, which integrates an STM32 Cortex-M0 microcontroller, gate drivers, and power management circuits in a single chip. This high level of integration simplifies design, reduces the number of components, and improves system reliability. The power stage based on STL140N6F7 MOSFETs delivers extremely low RDS(on) of just 2.8 mΩ, allowing continuous currents up to 20 A while maintaining high efficiency.

The board operates from 2S–6S LiPo batteries, offering a wide application range—from lightweight drones to more demanding propulsion systems. The integrated SEM (BEMF) detection circuitry provides precise sensorless control, while the built-in UART bootloader enables quick and convenient firmware programming. ST provides a complete software package, STSW-ESC002V1, which significantly accelerates development and allows users to focus on application logic. Additionally, a bright RGB LED is included for status indication. The design meets RoHS and 2006/66/EC standards, ensuring full compliance with modern safety and environmental requirements.
