Description

The MODIG MD07005 Step-Down converter module reduces DC input voltage to a regulated 5 V output in electronic circuits and embedded systems. It uses an MP4315 switching regulator operating with an input voltage from 5 V to 42 V and a switching frequency of approximately 700 kHz. The maximum output current is 2.5 A during continuous operation and 3.5 A for short periods, depending on thermal conditions. Compact dimensions of 21 × 18 mm allow the module to be used in devices with limited installation space, including power supplies for microcontrollers, sensors, and control circuits.

The converter achieves efficiency exceeding 90% at a 3 A load and features protection against overload, overheating, and reverse input polarity. The EN input allows the regulator to be disabled and switched to standby mode, where current consumption drops below 0.5 mA. The PG output indicates the correct output voltage, making it easier to monitor the power supply circuit. To obtain a regulated 5 V output, the input voltage should be at least 5.5 V.

The PCB features solder pads with a 2.54 mm pitch, allowing the power supply, load, and control signals to be connected using wires or pin headers.
