Description

Teensy 4.0 is a very efficient and extensive board with a microcontroller with an ARM Cortex-M7 core with an operating frequency of up to 600 MHz. It has a floating point unit, which enables processing of audio and video signals and scientific calculations. The board is equipped with large amounts of memory - 2 MB Flash, 1 MB RAM (512K tightly coupled) and 1K EEPROM (emulated). In addition, it is possible to expand the memory by adding RAM or Flash chips.

Teensy has multiple communication interfaces, including USB host 480 Mbit/s, 40 digital input/output pins, 31 PWM output pins, 14 analog input pins, 7 serial ports, 3 SPI, 3 I2C, 2 I2S/TDM ports and 1 port S/PDIF digital audio. In addition, the board supports 3 CAN buses (1 with CAN FD) and 1 SDIO (4 bit) native SD card port. It is also equipped with 32 general-purpose DMA channels, which enables fast and efficient data transfer. The board also has crypto acceleration and a random number generator and RTC for date/time.

Each Teensy 4.0 module has an uploaded bootloader, thanks to which it can be programmed using the built-in USB connector. No external programmer is needed. Programs can be written in any environment supporting the C language or in the Arduino IDE after installing the Teensyduino extension. In addition, the Teensy 4.0-LOCK version allows you to activate the Secure mode. This allows you to maintain adequate security of the code, e.g. when updating.
