Description

The WIZnet W232N is designed to convert RS232 serial communication into Ethernet connectivity for industrial automation and networking applications. The device features a DB9 RS232 interface, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, and hardware optimized for reliable network communication using multiple transmission protocols. A wide 5 V to 36 V DC input voltage range, ESD protection, and DIN rail mounting capability make the converter suitable for demanding industrial environments.

RS232 to Ethernet Conversion

The WIZnet W232N enables communication between RS232-based devices and 10/100 Mbps Ethernet networks without requiring any modifications to existing hardware. The module supports serial communication speeds of up to 230 kbps and operates in TCP Server, TCP Client, SSL TCP Client, TCP Mixed, and UDP modes. Built-in support for Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII, MQTT, and MQTTS enables integration with industrial automation systems, IoT platforms, and network applications.

The device also supports custom communication protocols and OTA firmware updates for connected external devices. Network and serial interface parameters can be configured using the dedicated Configuration Tool, AT commands, or the built-in Web Server interface, allowing rapid deployment in a wide range of industrial applications.
