An indoor ThinkNode G4 gateway designed for building IoT networks based on Wi-Fi HaLow (IEEE 802.11ah) technology, providing long-range communication in the Sub-1 GHz frequency band. The device supports Wi-Fi HaLow, conventional 2.4 GHz WiFi, and 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet simultaneously, offering AP, STA, and Mesh operating modes. The platform, based on the HLK-7628N processor with 128 MB DDR2 RAM and 32 MB Flash memory, supports configuration through a web interface and remote OTA firmware updates. The gateway is intended for industrial automation, smart city, agriculture, monitoring, and IoT communication applications. ThinkNode G4 Wi-Fi HaLow Gateway
The ThinkNode G4 gateway enables the creation of wireless networks based on IEEE 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow technology. Operating in the Sub-1 GHz frequency band provides longer communication range and better signal penetration through walls and obstacles than conventional 2.4 GHz WiFi. According to the manufacturer, the gateway offers a line-of-sight range exceeding 1 km and data rates up to 32 Mb/s, making it suitable for large-scale IoT deployments, industrial automation, smart cities, agriculture, and monitoring systems.
ThinkNode G4 is based on the HLK-7628N module with 128 MB DDR2 RAM and 32 MB Flash memory. The gateway supports Wi-Fi HaLow communication in the 850–950 MHz band as well as conventional 2.4 GHz WiFi compliant with IEEE 802.11 b/g/n. An integrated 10/100 Mb/s Ethernet port allows straightforward integration into existing network infrastructure. Support for AP, STA, and Mesh operating modes enables the device to function as an access point, wireless client, or node within a mesh network. Configuration is performed through a web interface, while the firmware supports remote OTA updates.

Wi-Fi HaLow technology combines longer communication distances with higher throughput than LPWAN technologies designed for transmitting only small amounts of data. Operation in the Sub-1 GHz frequency band improves signal penetration through buildings and other obstacles while enabling communication with a large number of connected devices. The gateway supports WPA3 security as well as AES and SHA encryption algorithms. According to the manufacturer, a single gateway can support more than four times as many connected devices as a conventional WiFi access point. The device is suitable for applications including monitoring, smart metering, industrial automation, asset management, and large-scale IoT deployments.
The device provides all interfaces required for power supply, configuration, and network communication. The enclosure includes an RJ45 Ethernet port, a USB Type-C power connector, a CFG button, and dedicated antenna connectors for Wi-Fi HaLow and 2.4 GHz WiFi. Operating status is indicated by the PWR, HaLow, and LINK LEDs, which display power, Wi-Fi HaLow connection status, and gateway configuration status.
Main panel functions:
The manufacturer provides comprehensive documentation, including a Wiki and User Manual, containing installation instructions, configuration procedures, operating modes, and technical specifications.

The ThinkNode G4 gateway can operate as an Access Point, Client, or Mesh node, enabling the deployment of extensive Wi-Fi HaLow networks for IoT devices. Its compact enclosure supports wall mounting, while the operating temperature range of -20°C to 70°C allows installation in indoor as well as demanding industrial environments.
