CAN Bus is a networking standard, originally designed for cars. It is now widely used for robots or sensor networks that need better coverage and addressing than I2C, and do not have the pins or computational capability to communicate over Ethernet. CAN is a differential 2-wire interface, which means it allows data transmission over long distances in noisy conditions. Each CAN device sends messages whenever it wants, and with data encoding, message collisions can be detected and sent later.
The converter will find use in projects requiring stable communication with multiple devices over longer distances. Full documentation and example programmes are available on the product page.
