Module with a 16-channel GPIO expander with the ability to control LEDs. Equipped with a STEMMA QT connector, it communicates via the I2C interface. Adafruit 4886
Module with a 16-channel GPIO expander based on the AW9523 system. It allows you to expand the number of inputs and outputs of the microcontroller, as well as directly control the LEDs (with 256 levels of brightness) without the need to add a resistor. The expander will be perfect as a module for connecting buttons, because it has the ability to generate an interrupt in the event of a change in input status. The module is supplied with the voltage from 2.5 V to 5.5 V, and communication is via the I2C interface (STEMMA QT connector). Full documentation is available on the product page. The manufacturer also provides an easy-to-use library for Arduino or CircuitPython.
