Handheld platform for creating and running games using BBC micro:bit. Equipped with a matrix of 64 individually addressable ZIP LEDs arranged in an 8 x 8 layout, four directional buttons, two fire buttons, programmable sound and haptic feedback. Supports developing custom games in MakeCode Blocks and MicroPython and can also be used as a controller in robotics projects. Kitronik 5626
Gaming platform for BBC micro:bit combines the functions of a handheld console with a programmable controller. The built-in display consists of 64 individually addressable, full-colour ZIP LEDs arranged in an 8 x 8 matrix. Control is provided by four directional buttons and two fire buttons, while additional features include programmable sound and haptic feedback. When BBC micro:bit is inserted into the connector, its own functions, including the LED matrix and accelerometer, remain available.
Expansion pads allow additional shoulder buttons, I2C devices and larger LED displays to be connected. :GAME ZIP 64 can also operate as a controller for vehicles and robotics projects, allowing the platform to be used not only for game development but also for learning device control and user interface programming. The manufacturer provides example games and resources for MakeCode Blocks and MicroPython, while custom programs can be developed and tested directly on the platform.
Power is supplied by 3 AA batteries installed in integrated battery holders that also serve as grips for more comfortable handheld use. The design is intended for use as a portable console without requiring an additional enclosure. BBC micro:bit is not included.
