Development board with the ATmega32u4 microcontroller, integrated RFM69HCW 433MHz radio module, USB interface, and LiPo battery charging circuit, intended for building wireless communication systems with longer range than 2.4GHz networks. Adafruit 3077
The Adafruit Feather 32u4 with RFM69HCW 433MHz is designed for developing portable and stationary wireless communication systems operating in the 433MHz band. The board integrates an ATmega32u4 microcontroller clocked at 8MHz and operating with 3.3V logic, enabling native USB communication without the need for an external USB-to-UART converter, as well as support for HID devices such as keyboards, mice, and USB MIDI interfaces.
The integrated RFM69HCW radio module based on the SX1231 chipset supports packet-based communication with node addressing, AES-128 encryption, and software-selectable transmit power up to 100mW. Operation in the 433MHz band allows for longer communication range compared to 2.4GHz-based solutions, while maintaining lower power consumption and flexible configuration of transmission parameters.
The board is equipped with a 3.7V lithium-polymer battery charging circuit with charge status indication and automatic power source switching between USB and battery. The battery voltage is also routed through a resistor divider to an analog input, allowing monitoring of the battery charge level within the user application.
The Adafruit Feather 32u4 RFM69HCW 433MHz provides a comprehensive set of GPIO pins, hardware UART, I2C, and SPI interfaces, as well as PWM outputs and analog inputs, enabling integration with sensors, actuators, and other embedded system components. The board is delivered fully assembled and tested, ready for programming using the Arduino IDE.
