IN100 NanoBeacon Module is a compact, energy-efficient Bluetooth beacon module operating in the 2.4 GHz band. With exceptionally low power consumption, it is ideal for applications such as sensor monitoring, asset tracking, or real-time location systems. The module is based on the IN100 NanoBeacon™ chip from InPlay™ and supports standard 2.4 GHz protocols. It includes numerous built-in features that significantly reduce power usage, allowing it to operate for years even with continuous device connectivity. The Pro version comes with soldered 2.54 mm headers but excludes a power LED and button, making it ready for direct integration into the target application.
The IN100 module can be powered by a 3V button cell battery (CR1225), for which it includes a compatible 12 mm battery holder (battery not included). Additionally, the module features a Qwiic connector for seamless integration with the Qwiic ecosystem, simplifying connections to other modules and sensors. One side of the board provides a UART interface via a 6-pin 2.54 mm header for serial communication, while the other side includes four GPIO pins (4-7) and two power switch pins (SW0 and SW1). The back of the board offers a "Notes" area, allowing users to add custom labels or identifiers to distinguish between different NanoBeacon modules.
The Pro version is equipped with soldered 2.54 mm headers and is optimized for direct application use, with no power LED or button installed. Configuring the module is straightforward with the InPlay NanoBeacon Config Tool, which allows programming the IN100 without the need for complex coding. The tool offers a graphical user interface (GUI) for setting module parameters, such as advertising and pairing configurations.
