IN100 NanoBeacon Lite Module is a compact, energy-efficient Bluetooth beacon module operating in the 2.4 GHz band. With its extremely low power consumption, it is ideal for applications such as sensor monitoring, asset tracking, and real-time location. The module is based on the IN100 NanoBeacon™ chip from InPlay™ and supports standard 2.4 GHz protocols. It includes several built-in features that significantly reduce power consumption, allowing it to operate for many years, even with constant connection to a device.
The IN100 module can be powered by a 3V coin cell battery (CR1225), and it includes an appropriate battery holder with a 12 mm diameter (battery not included). Additionally, the module has a Qwiic connector, enabling easy integration with the Qwiic ecosystem for straightforward connections with other modules and sensors. On one side of the board, there is a UART interface available on a 6-pin, 2.54 mm pitch connector for serial communication. The other side of the module includes four GPIO pins (4-7) and two power switch pins (SW0 and SW1). The back of the board features a "Notes" area where users can write notes or labels to easily distinguish between different NanoBeacon modules.
The Lite version of this module is designed for prototyping and testing in a development environment before deployment into production. The module features a power indicator LED and a reset button, but it does not come with pre-soldered connectors. Configuration of the module is extremely simple, thanks to the InPlay NanoBeacon Config Tool, which allows IN100 programming without the need to write complex software. The tool provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to set module parameters such as advertisement and pairing configuration.
