About the book

An ideal book for all electronics designers designing devices using microprocessors. The book contains many practical information about the design of digital systems built using microcontrollers. Practical considerations regarding the use of a particular microcontroller in this and not another work system refer to the most popular types of microcontrollers in our country: especially the '51 family microcontrollers (above all the simplest Atmel systems) as well as PIC and AVR systems.

The book describes, among others:

  • ways of feeding the microprocessor system;
  • systems for generating a reset signal;
  • clock signal generation circuits;
  • internal construction of input / output ports of typical microcontrollers;
  • the data transmission system of the microprocessor system;
  • ways of attaching external program and data memory;
  • parallel links;
  • serial links (RS-232, RS-485, I2C, SPI interface, 1-Wire interface);
  • use of contact and optoelectronic sensors;
  • attaching a matrix keyboard;
  • control of LED and LCD displays;
  • building high power output circuits.

The system solutions are supported by examples of functions written in C language, which has become popular among microcontroller programmers. The sample programs were written in a way that shows the solution to the problem, which allowed to become independent of the hardware platform.
