Description

The Raspberry Pi AI Camera is a modern camera module designed by Raspberry Pi, equipped with the intelligent Sony IMX500 sensor, which combines a 12-megapixel CMOS sensor with an inference accelerator, enabling advanced AI-based applications without the need for additional hardware. The IMX500 can process data and perform inference at the sensor level, offloading the main processor in the Raspberry Pi computer. This camera is an ideal solution for projects utilizing image recognition and other vision-based AI applications.

With support for tensor metadata in the libcamera and Picamera2 libraries, the Raspberry Pi AI Camera is easy to use even for beginners, while also providing advanced capabilities for more experienced creators. The module is compatible with all Raspberry Pi computers, and its hole layout is consistent with the Raspberry Pi Camera 3 module, allowing for easy replacement in existing projects. The increased height of the module is due to the use of the IMX500 sensor and the optical assembly.
