The Waveshare 32641 camera module is intended for applications that require high image quality and reliable performance in low-light environments. The integrated Sony IMX678 sensor with 8 MP resolution and a 1/1.8-inch optical format enables detailed image capture at resolutions up to 3840 × 2160 pixels.
The camera is equipped with an M12 lens featuring a fixed focal length of 4.2 mm and an aperture of F2.4, providing a wide field of view and good image brightness. A built-in 650 nm IR filter improves color reproduction under daylight conditions. The module uses a rolling shutter mechanism.

Communication is handled via a USB 2.0 interface, allowing direct connection to a computer, single-board computer, or embedded system without the need for driver installation. Supported MJPG and YUY2 image formats enable flexible configuration of capture and recording parameters.
The module is suitable for use in vision systems, monitoring, industrial automation, robotics, AI systems, and projects requiring high resolution and good image quality in low-light conditions.
