ArduCAM IMX519 PDAF & CDAF is a high-resolution camera module designed for vision systems based on Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson Orin platforms. The device uses a Sony IMX519 CMOS sensor with a resolution of 16 MP, providing highly detailed images for both photography and video recording. The camera offers significantly higher resolution than popular Raspberry Pi Camera V1 and V2 modules while maintaining a compact design that allows easy integration into existing projects. Thanks to the small PCB size, the module can be easily used in embedded systems, robotics, and IoT projects.
One of the key features of the camera is the hybrid autofocus system combining PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) and CDAF (Contrast Detection Auto Focus). This solution provides both fast focusing speed and very high precision. The camera supports capturing images at a maximum resolution of 4656 × 3496 pixels and recording video at 4K resolution (3840 × 2160). Thanks to high-quality optics and a bright lens, the image remains sharp and detailed even in more challenging lighting conditions.
The module uses the MIPI CSI-2 interface, which ensures fast image data transfer to the processing platform. The camera works with systems based on Linux and supports both Raspberry Pi and NVIDIA Jetson developer boards. Integration with these platforms allows the camera to be used in applications such as security systems, smart video doorbells, face recognition, and industrial automation. Thanks to its high resolution and support for multiple recording modes, the camera is also suitable for photography applications, timelapse systems, and research projects.
The compact design of the module and low power consumption make it easy to integrate even in installations with limited mounting space.
