Description

We present the fifth edition of the iconic Raspberry Pi, which is a real revolution in the field of minicomputers. Raspberry Pi 5 features an advanced BCM2712 processor with four powerful Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz, which allows for a 2-3 times increase in performance compared to previous versions. Moreover, the modern VideoCore v3D VII graphics chip supports OpenGL 3.1, Vulcan 1.3 and offers a 2-2.5 times increase in performance. Improvements in MIPI support translate into higher throughput, and the advanced ISP is capable of processing up to 1 gigapixel per second, which opens the door to creating even more innovative camera designs. If you are a technology enthusiast and are looking for a mini computer that will redefine your expectations, Raspberry Pi 5 is the perfect choice!

Kamami is the official distributor of Raspberry Pi minicomputers and dedicated accessories.
The latest Raspberry Pi computer introduces revolutionary changes. For the first time in RPI's history, the device uses a system fully designed by the Raspberry Pi team. RP1 serves as the southbridge, a key circuit for communication with external devices. It is equipped with Gigabit Ethernet interfaces (directly integrated, without an external physical layer), and two USB controllers - enabling connection to 1x USB 3 and 1x USB 2, which results in more than twice the bandwidth than in the RPI 4 model. Additionally, RP1 includes MIPI interfaces dedicated to displays and cameras, as well as an advanced SDIO memory card interface with support for SDR104 fast data transfer mode.
The new Raspberry Pi model introduces an advanced power supply section, the heart of which is the specially designed DA9091 chip. Thanks to this, we not only gain performance, but also have access to the USB PD function with a dedicated 5 V 5 A mode. Another important element is the built-in real-time clock (RTC) with battery backup and an intuitive power switch. Moreover, by default, Raspberry Pi starts up immediately after connecting to the power supply, and a dedicated button allows for easy power control - one press opens the menu, while two presses turns off the minicomputer. Thanks to this button, we can also quickly reactivate a previously turned off computer.
The Raspberry Pi manufacturer introduces an innovative 27W USB Type-C power supply with PD support, offering optimal power supply for the latest computer model. For those who have previously used a Raspberry Pi 4, it is possible to use a 15W power supply. However, it is worth noting that in this case the current on the USB connectors is limited to 600 mA. In contrast, the new Raspberry Pi power supply allows for up to 1600mA. Importantly, this modern power supply meets the following standards: 5A @ 5.1V, 3A @ 9V, 2.25A @ 12V and 1.8A @ 15V, guaranteeing reliability and high efficiency.
The latest generation of Raspberry Pi 5 uses an advanced PCIe 2.0 x1 interface, which is connected to a particularly precise 16-pin FFC connector with a 0.5 mm pitch. Thanks to this, users have access to much higher performance and compatibility with the latest technologies. Moreover, for those who want to get the most out of their Raspberry Pi, the manufacturer offers the official HAT M.2 module. It allows you to connect modern SSD drives that support the fast and reliable NVME protocol. This solution makes Raspberry Pi an ideal multimedia center, file server or platform for intensive computing, while maintaining small size and energy efficiency.
In the latest Raspberry Pi model, there has been a significant change in the position of the PoE connector, which translates into incompatibility with PoE HAT modules from earlier generations of the computer. However, for Raspberry Pi 5 users, the manufacturer is preparing a new, dedicated HAT module. This modern component will be fully compliant with the renowned 802.3at standard, which guarantees reliability and efficiency in communication. Additionally, it has been designed with compactness in mind - so it fits perfectly into the official Raspberry Pi case. Thanks to this, Raspberry Pi enthusiasts will have access to the best power solutions via Ethernet.
In the latest Raspberry Pi model, users will experience significant interface innovations. Unlike previous versions, the new RPI has two connectors that share interfaces to both the camera and the display. This opens up new configuration possibilities - using dedicated tapes, Raspberry Pi enthusiasts can connect two cameras, two displays, or a combination of one camera and one display at the same time. This functionality allows you to create more advanced projects, expanding the scope of Raspberry Pi applications in various multimedia systems and applications.
For intensive use, the new Raspberry Pi model, like its predecessors, requires additional CPU cooling. To streamline the assembly process and ensure maximum efficiency, the manufacturer has integrated two additional holes in the motherboard for mounting the heat sink. Moreover, Raspberry Pi now includes a special fan header with speed control function, which is natively supported by the latest Raspberry Pi OS. Thanks to this, users do not have to worry about additional configuration - the fan is ready to operate immediately after connecting. And for those looking for full optimization, the new official Raspberry Pi case has a built-in fan. For the most demanding users, the manufacturer also offers a special cooling set that guarantees exceptional performance and thermal stability.
The latest Raspberry Pi 5 model presents innovative features that distinguish it from other minicomputers. One of the main advantages is a dedicated debugging connector, equipped with an independent UART interface. Separate from the standard HAT connector, this interface is activated by default, meaning no additional user configuration is required. Specialists and developers will appreciate the ability to connect the Raspberry Pi Debug Probe tool, enabling precise diagnosis and monitoring of computer operation. Importantly, all these functions are available without the need to connect to a display or the Internet. Pi5 simplifies the debugging process, making it faster and easier to develop advanced projects on the Raspberry platform.

Versatile Use of Raspberry Pi 5 in Modern Applications

Raspberry Pi, being a small minicomputer with a wide range of possibilities, has found its place in many different applications. As a multimedia center, it is used by many users to stream music, movies and photos using software such as Kodi or Plex. For lovers of classic games, Raspberry Pi can become a retro console where, thanks to emulators such as RetroPie, you can recall classics from Nintendo, Atari or Sega consoles.

The educational potential of this device is enormous, often serving as a workstation for young programmers learning languages such as Python, Scratch or Java. However, its possibilities do not end with programming. For DIY enthusiasts, Raspberry Pi is an invaluable tool in robotics, allowing you to create robots, drones and other autonomous devices. Combined with appropriate sensors, it can also serve as a home weather station, providing information about weather conditions.

Raspberry Pi has also been used in the field of servers. It can function as a file server, print server, media server or even a website server, offering a simple and energy-saving alternative to traditional server solutions. In the field of networking and security, it is an excellent educational tool that allows you to experiment with network configuration, penetration testing or creating VPN nodes. In the context of the growing smart home market, this minicomputer allows you to integrate and control various types of devices, such as intelligent lighting, thermostats and cameras, introducing automation into everyday life.
