The development kit enables applications based on Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or another host controller to connect to AWS IoT Core services. Communication with the host controller is handled through the UART interface and AT commands, while the module manages cloud connectivity, authentication, message exchange, and device management. ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit
Device ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit uses the ESP32-C3-MINI-1-N4-A module with AWS IoT ExpressLink firmware. The solution reduces the amount of code required on the host microcontroller because the AWS IoT Core connection can be configured and controlled using AT commands sent through UART. The module handles authentication, communication, message transfer, and firmware updates.
The Arduino Shield-compatible form factor allows the development kit to be connected directly to a compatible Arduino board. TX, RX, EVENT, WAKE, and RESET pins also support integration with Raspberry Pi and other platforms equipped with a serial interface. Communication with AWS services uses TLS 1.2 encryption, while the local UART connection between the module and the host controller is not encrypted.
ESP32-C3-AWS-ExpressLink-DevKit can be used for IoT prototyping, AWS IoT Core communication testing, and adding cloud connectivity to existing devices without implementing a complete networking layer in the host application.
