Description

The DFRobot FireBeetle 2 ESP32-P4 IoT & HMI enables the development of IoT applications, vision systems, and devices equipped with graphical user interfaces. The board is based on the ESP32-P4R32 chip, featuring a 360 MHz dual-core RISC-V processor and an additional 40 MHz RISC-V core designed for lower-power tasks. The chip supports AI instruction extensions and a floating-point unit (FPU), while developers have access to 768 KB L2MEM, 32 MB PSRAM, and 16 MB Flash memory. These hardware resources enable image processing, object recognition, audio analysis, and interactive control panel applications.

MIPI-CSI and MIPI-DSI interfaces allow compatible cameras and displays to be connected, supporting projects using video resolutions up to 1080p. The ESP32-P4 provides hardware multimedia processing capabilities, including H.264 encoding and JPEG support. The board features a digital PDM microphone and a microSD card slot for storing images, recordings, and data. The platform is suitable for developing smart cameras, surveillance systems, video intercoms, interactive displays, and home automation devices.

Wireless communication is handled by an integrated ESP32-C6 module supporting Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5 LE, connected to the main microcontroller via SDIO. The board provides two USB Type-C ports: one for programming, debugging, and power supply, and another for the USB 2.0 High-Speed OTG interface. UART, I2C, I3C, SPI, I2S, and digital GPIO interfaces are also available. Its 25.4 x 60 mm dimensions make the module suitable for compact electronic projects. Programming is supported in Arduino IDE and ESP-IDF, although advanced MIPI-CSI and AI functionality requires ESP-IDF.
