Description
The Elecrow CrowPanel Advance 2.8" HMI module uses the ESP32-S3-WROOM-1-N16R8 with a dual-core Xtensa LX7 processor operating at up to 240MHz. It provides 512KB SRAM, 8MB PSRAM and 16MB Flash, offering resources for advanced graphical interfaces, wireless communication and voice-enabled applications.
The panel uses a 2.8" IPS display with a resolution of 320 × 240px, a 178° viewing angle and typical brightness of 400cd/m². The capacitive touch panel supports single-touch operation. The ST7789 display controller works with LVGL, while Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF and PlatformIO are supported for application development. The module can be used in operator panels, automation, smart-home systems, IoT devices, environmental monitoring and other embedded applications.
Standard wireless connectivity includes 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 5.0 / BLE. The CrowPanel Advance design also supports replaceable wireless modules including ESP32-H2, ESP32-C6, nRF24L01+ and LoRa modules. Depending on the installed expansion module, Zigbee, Thread, Matter, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi HaLow and LoRa communication can be added. Expansion modules are optional and are not included with the base version.
The board includes a microphone, amplified speaker output and buzzer. These interfaces support development of applications using voice recognition, speech synthesis, audio notifications and voice control. USB, UART, I2C, an SD card slot and a battery connector are also available. The manufacturer notes that the microphone and SD card cannot be used simultaneously.
The module also includes an RTC clock, battery charging management, USB-to-UART functionality and volume control. Power input is specified as 5V / 2A through USB or the corresponding power terminal. The operating temperature range is -20 to 70°C, while the module dimensions are 85.4 × 58.5 × 15.5mm. The DIS01728A-1 version is supplied without an acrylic enclosure.
