Description

Waveshare 33179 is a development kit intended for designing and testing embedded systems and edge AI applications, based on the Jetson Orin NX 8GB module. The kit uses the JETSON-ORIN-IO-BASE-B base board, providing access to a wide range of communication, vision, and multimedia interfaces, enabling integration with peripheral devices, CSI cameras, NVMe storage, as well as wired and wireless networking.

The integrated Jetson Orin NX module delivers high AI computing performance based on the NVIDIA Ampere GPU architecture with Tensor Cores, along with hardware DLA and PVA accelerators. The kit is supplied as a DEV KIT, including a 256GB NVMe SSD, dual-band WiFi with Bluetooth 5.0, active cooling, and a complete set of accessories for quick platform bring-up.

The solution is designed for applications such as image and video analytics, vision systems, robotics, industrial automation, intelligent infrastructure, edge computing, and prototyping AI-based devices.

The base board provides a total of 7 USB ports, including 4 USB Type-A connectors, 1 USB Type-C port and 2 USB 2.0 FFC connectors, enabling connection of multiple peripheral devices.

High-speed data transfer up to 10 Gb/s via USB 3.2 Gen 2 and system flashing using the Type-C port.
