Description

The Adafruit Bicolor LED Square Pixel Matrix with I2C Backpack module is intended for building compact LED displays controlled via the I2C bus. The matrix with an 8×8 resolution and a 1.2" diagonal contains 128 LEDs in two colors—red and green—with the possibility of obtaining a third color (yellow-orange) by driving both colors simultaneously. The applied control chip performs multiplexing, current stabilization, and brightness control, which eliminates the need to use a large number of microcontroller signal lines. The module communicates via the I2C interface, and address jumpers allow connecting multiple displays to a single bus. Built-in STEMMA QT connectors facilitate quick, solderless connection to compatible development boards.
