Visible spectrum emitter module that combines 9 discrete LEDs covering visible light wavelengths from 455 to 720 nm. It uses Qwiic connectors and I2C communication as well as a USB type C socket to power the module. SparkFun SPX-21316
Visible spectrum emitter module that combines 9 discrete LEDs covering visible light wavelengths from 455 to 720 nm. Each LED emits light with a narrow peak wavelength, except for the phosphor-based green LED in the middle of the spectrum. The board is based on the MultiSpecLED design by Ben Krasnow. The design uses weaker LEDs and places them closer together. The user also has Qwiic connectors and I2C communication with the LP55231 LED controller. The built-in USB Type-C receptacle allows you to connect a high-current 5V power supply to the LEDs, and the exposed copper on the back is sized for a self-adhesive copper heatsink for applications where additional cooling may be needed. The LEDs can be run to about 80% PWM fill without the need for cooling, but above that a heat sink is required. Examples and the Arduino library are available for the module.
