The SenseCAP Outdoor Gateway LoRaWAN gateway collects data from wireless sensors and forwards it to a cloud platform via Ethernet or 4G LTE. The Seeed Studio device operates in the European EU868 band, covering frequencies from 863 MHz to 870 MHz. It supports LoRaWAN Class A sensors and can be used in smart agriculture, environmental monitoring, building automation, and distributed IoT installations.
The gateway features a TI AM3358 Cortex-A8 processor running at 1 GHz and a Semtech SX1302 radio concentrator. The Linux Debian operating system works with 512 MB of DDR3 RAM and 8 GB of eMMC storage. The radio system supports eight receiving channels and one transmitting channel, with a receiver sensitivity of -139.5 dBm at SF12 and a bandwidth of 125 kHz. The specified communication range reaches up to 10 km with a clear line of sight and up to 2 km in urban environments, depending on radio propagation conditions.
The IP66-rated enclosure protects the electronics against dust and powerful water jets. An operating temperature range of -40°C to 70°C and the enclosure material's resistance to UV radiation allow outdoor installation. The gateway can operate in greenhouses, agricultural facilities, industrial plants, and extensive measurement systems. Its construction supports wall or pole mounting.

SenseCAP system configuration involves registering the device by scanning its code, connecting the power supply, installing the gateway and sensors, and accessing data through the cloud platform. The SenseCAP mobile app and SenseCAP Portal support device registration, status monitoring, and measurement management.
LoRaWAN connectivity enables the deployment of distributed sensor networks with low power requirements. The solution can be used to monitor temperature and humidity in agricultural crops, supervise food storage conditions, and collect environmental data. The SenseCAP API enables measurement data to be integrated with custom applications and analytics systems.
The gateway works with SenseCAP LoRaWAN sensors and appropriately configured devices from other manufacturers. Connections to the platform use authentication and transmission encryption mechanisms. The manufacturer provides the SenseCAP Outdoor Gateway product specifications and documentation for device configuration and management. The gateway does not support Helium LongFi networks.
