Description

The Wio-SX1262 and XIAO ESP32S3 module is an advanced IoT device that combines the versatility of the ESP32S3 microcontroller with LoRa technology, providing an efficient and flexible solution for wireless communication. The 3D-printed enclosure guarantees durability, lightweight construction, and resistance to harsh environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures. The module supports a wide frequency range from 868 to 915 MHz and features an external 2 dBi antenna, enabling LoRa communication over distances of up to 5 km in open space. With pre-installed software for a one-channel LoRaWAN gateway, the device is ready to operate immediately upon unboxing, allowing for quick integration with the SenseCraft application. The module also supports the Meshtastic protocol, enabling the creation of mesh networks for communication in extreme conditions without relying on Wi-Fi or cellular networks.

Equipped with the advanced Xtensa LX7 processor, which features dual cores and supports both Arduino and MicroPython, the module provides a performance of up to 240 MHz. It also supports Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth 5.0, making it a versatile tool for various applications. The advanced power system allows the device to be powered via a USB-C port and also supports battery charging, making it convenient for use in mobile and outdoor projects. The GPIO ports allow for connecting additional modules, such as GNSS, which expands the device's capabilities.

The module is ideal for both beginners and advanced users who want to explore the possibilities of LoRa/LoRaWAN technology. Its compact dimensions and lightweight design make it perfect for projects where space is limited. It supports rapid prototyping with the XIAO expansion board and Grove sensors. It can be used as a LoRaWAN gateway, Meshtastic node, or LoRaWAN sensor, with functionality customized to suit individual needs. It is the most cost-effective option for those wishing to connect multiple LoRaWAN sensors to servers like The Things Network or Chirpstack.
