The M5Stack DAC2 Hat is an I2C digital-to-analog signal converter module designed to be compatible with the StickC series controllers. Featuring the GP8413 chip, it delivers high precision and accuracy. This chip enables linear conversion of a 15-bit digital value into two independent analog voltages in the 0–5V or 0–10V range. The output voltage error is only 0.2%, with linearity up to 0.01%.
To enhance scalability, the circuit supports a 3-bit hardware address, allowing up to 8 devices to be connected and operated simultaneously. The DAC2 Hat is also equipped with safety features, including output short-circuit protection. In case of a short circuit between the output and ground, the device automatically enters protection mode and disables the output to prevent damage.
The DAC2 Hat is ideal for a wide range of applications, such as general signal conversion, motor speed control, LED dimming, inverters, power supplies, or analog signal isolation in industrial environments.
