Distance measurement module using Time of Flight technology and the VL53L0X sensor enables distance detection in the range from 3 cm to 200 cm with 1 mm resolution. The optical system rotated by 90° allows horizontal measurements, suitable for mobile robots, obstacle avoidance systems and automation applications.
Under typical conditions, the maximum measurement distance reaches approximately 120 cm. Achieving the full 200 cm range requires enabling long range mode and operating in an environment with low infrared interference and reduced ambient light.
Single measurement time ranges from 8 ms to 23 ms, enabling fast response in dynamic applications. Communication is handled via I2C using the HY2.0-4P Grove connector, which simplifies integration with M5Stack platforms. The module is compatible with Arduino, UiFlow1 and UiFlow2 environments, enabling quick implementation in educational and commercial projects in robotics, monitoring, intelligent transportation and smart home systems.
