The book is dedicated to selected non-linear phenomena in fiber optics. It describes the basic properties of waveguide structures, selected non-linear phenomena and mechanisms of optical non-linearity. Non-linear propagation in waveguide structures as well as properties of time and space solitons as well as optical switching systems are presented. Particular attention is paid to liquid crystal fibers and photorefractive optical fiber. The book is based on numerous own studies and rich experiences collected by the authors while working with students and PhD students. It contains important elements of the new field of optics, which are not currently in such a range in Polish scientific literature. The publication is addressed to students of technical physics, electronics and telecommunications as well as people interested in non-linear optics and optics optics.
