This study was based on lectures on the basics of microwave technology, which the author conducted for students of the 4th year of the microelectronics specialization at the Electronics Department of Poltechniki Wrocławska.

Bearing in mind the rapid expansion of the operation of the electromagnetic spectrum in the direction of higher and higher frequencies, the development of microwave techniques is equally important. The mutual penetration of microwaves and optoelectronics indicates that this is an area whose development perspectives are still very large.

The greatest emphasis was placed on the basics: Maxwell's equations and their consequences, wave guides, specific properties of microwave technology.
