Description

Fashionstar Atom X 17-DOF is an advanced educational kit that enables building a humanoid robot with 17 degrees of freedom (17 DOF). The platform is designed for learning robotics, researching motion control algorithms, and developing projects related to artificial intelligence. The robot structure is based on 17 Fashionstar RA8-U25H-M servo motors, which enable complex kinematic movements such as walking, gestures, and maintaining balance. The core of the system is the Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3, providing high computing performance and built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy connectivity. Thanks to this, the robot can be used in IoT projects, remote control systems, or applications requiring wireless communication. The platform also remains compatible with the entire Seeed Studio XIAO family of boards, allowing easy expansion or controller replacement.

The central element of the electronics is the RUC-01 board, which integrates power management, servo bus interfaces, and a USB-C debugging port. The module also provides Grove connectors, enabling easy connection of additional sensors and expansion modules. Thanks to the use of a servo bus architecture, wiring is significantly simplified, and the system allows reading operating parameters of each servo, such as position, load, voltage, and temperature.

One of the most important elements of the system is the web-based motion editor, which operates directly in a web browser. The tool allows visual control of servo motors in real time, angle adjustment, and the use of a Teaching Mode that enables manual positioning of the robot and saving motion sequences. Motion data can be exported in the standard JSON format, making it easy to use in applications written in languages such as Python or C++. The robot is designed as an open-source platform, allowing users to modify both the software and the mechanical structure. Structural elements are manufactured using 3D printing technology (PLA/ABS), and the design files are available to users, enabling further customization of the construction.

Thanks to standard UART communication, the robot can cooperate with various hardware platforms such as Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32, and Arduino.
