Description

The Waveshare 26807 JetBot Professional Version ROS AI Kit B is an advanced mobile robot kit used for learning and developing robotics algorithms, autonomous systems, and sensor data processing within the ROS (Robot Operating System) environment. The design is based on the NVIDIA Jetson platform, which performs tasks related to computer vision, machine learning, and high-level control, while a dedicated robot controller is responsible for drive control and real-time sensor handling.

Lidar

The JetBot Professional Version ROS AI Kit B is equipped with a LiDAR sensor used for distance measurement and horizontal-plane environment scanning.

Data from the LiDAR enables the implementation of mapping algorithms (SLAM) and robot localization relative to the environment.

The sensor generates a point cloud used by the ROS system for trajectory planning, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous navigation in indoor environments.

The JetBot Professional Version ROS AI Kit B is equipped with a microphone and a speaker, enabling bidirectional audio operation.

The microphone is used to capture audio signals from the environment and to implement speech recognition functions such as voice command handling or sound analysis.

Audio signal processing is performed in software on the NVIDIA Jetson platform, using the ROS environment and automatic speech recognition libraries.

The speaker enables playback of sounds and system-generated messages, including status signals, voice messages, and test tones.

The audio system is used in human–robot interaction applications, voice system testing, and projects that require auditory feedback.

The core of the JetBot Professional Version ROS AI Kit B is a computing platform based on the NVIDIA Jetson module, responsible for executing tasks related to image processing, audio processing, and artificial intelligence algorithms.

The computing unit performs operations involving computer vision, object recognition, sensory data analysis, and management of the ROS environment. The Jetson module works in conjunction with a dedicated baseboard that provides USB, Ethernet, GPIO interfaces, as well as connectors for the camera, LiDAR, and other robot components.

The platform is used as the main high-level control unit, implementing the robot’s autonomy logic.
