Kitronik LAB:bit is a comprehensive educational platform for BBC micro:bit boards, designed for teaching programming in primary schools. The device provides an engaging and practical way to learn coding, combining fun with education. It has been developed specifically for classroom use and is supported by MakeCode tutorials, dedicated code blocks, and a detailed guide. The set includes a battery holder, a wheel with a tire for the motor, and an English instruction manual. LAB:bit is equipped with numerous features and components that enable exciting and engaging lessons – including a motor, ultrasonic sensor, two large touch buttons with LEDs, a microphone, a speaker with volume control, seven programmable ZIP LEDs arranged in an arc, a potentiometer, two sets of traffic light LEDs, and LEDs arranged in a dice formation, which can also display numbers.

The board features a built-in edge connector for the micro:bit, an acrylic protective cover, connectors for additional motors and buttons, as well as a multicolor LED indicating power level. Additionally, LAB:bit comes with non-slip rubber feet and a cutout for easy access to the reset button. Coding is done in the MakeCode editor with the help of dedicated Kitronik blocks, which are simple enough for even the youngest learners. Power is supplied via a three-cell AA battery holder connected through a DC jack, and the board operates within a voltage range of 3 V to 6 V, with 3 V to 4.5 V recommended. The built-in voltage regulator powers both the board and the micro:bit, and it also includes reverse polarity protection. LAB:bit is an ideal teaching tool for introducing children to electronics and programming, enabling them to create fun and interactive projects.
